  • Yes. The GAD-7 was developed by Dr. Robert L. Spitzer and his colleagues. It is a gold-standard screening tool used by doctors and therapists worldwide to measure the severity of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Phobia, and Panic Disorder.

  • Many people think anxiety is just "worrying," but the research behind the GAD-7 shows that physical restlessness and emotional irritability are key indicators of how your nervous system is processing stress.

  • If your score indicates mild to severe symptoms, we recommend booking an initial consultation. Bringing your score to your first session can be a great "conversation starter" to help your therapist understand exactly where you are struggling.

  • Research shows that a score of 10 or higher has high sensitivity for detecting Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It is also effective at identifying signs of Social Phobia and PTSD (where a lower cutoff of 8 is often used by clinicians).
